Modern Day Slavery

Dr. Ellen Kennedy,
 CEO, World without Genocide

Human trafficking is one of the world’s fastest-growing criminal activities, second only to trafficking in drugs.  In the US, one in seven young people between the ages of 10 and 18 will run away from home at some point.  Within 48 hours, at least a third of them will be sex-trafficked and forced into prostitution by perpetrators who prey on vulnerable young women and young men.
Educators are on the front lines in this struggle to protect our youth.  At the 2014 DKG international convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, you can learn how to protect young people, help prosecutors, and educate  communities to end today’s modern-day slavery.
Dr. Kennedy has produced a DVD that will be available to be used with high school students as performers and audiences.  The play is done on a bare stage, readers' theatre style, with a simple script and accompanying PowerPoint slides.

Join this dynamic speaker as she helps you come face to face with one form of modern day slavery.
